LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The coroner has identified a woman and man who died in a murder-suicide in Valley Station on Sunday evening.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said police responded to a call of a double shooting in the 10200 block of Dodge Lane, near Valley Station Road, around 5:56 p.m. Once officers arrived, they found a man and woman who had been shot.
The Jefferson County Coroner has identified Hayley C. Thomas, 30, as one of the victims. She died at the scene from gunshot wounds from a homicide.
Walter S. Thomas III, 57, was taken to University of Louisville Hospital, where he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Authorities have not released information about the relationship between the man and woman, but both lived on Dodge Lane.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
