LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Celebrity "SuperChef" and former Louisville restaurant owner Darnell Ferguson is in jail on burglary and strangulation charges.

According to the Metro Corrections booking log, Ferguson was arrested Tuesday on seven different charges, including burglary, strangulation, assault, terroristic threatening and menacing.

According to court documents, a complaint was filed on Jan. 2, and an Emergency Protection Order was granted.

Ferguson is known nationally from various TV shows, including as a host on Food Network's "SuperChef Grudge Match." He also competed on several of the network's other shows, including "Tournament of Champions."

At one time, he owned several restaurants in Louisville, including SuperChefs, which closed in July 2022. He's also given back through his nonprofit and other charities.

WDRB News has reached out to police for more information. St. Matthews Police said they served the warrant, but aren't commenting further.
