LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was shot by police in Frankfort after a knife incident inside a home, according to Kentucky State Police.
Kentucky State Police said the shooting happened in the 2300 block of Devils Hollow Road Jan. 18.
According to police, Franklin County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a 911 call at a home involving 34-year-old Justin W. Jennings.
Police said Jennings was in his mother's home with a knife and was yelling. Police commanded Jennings to drop the knife, but he refused to.
A deputy shot Jennings, who was then taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. KSP said Jennings was shot to protect people inside the home.
Jennings is facing assault charges.
