LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Human remains were found in Meade County over the weekend, according to Brandenburg Police Department.

Police responded to the 1300 bock of Old State Road after human remains were found in a field near a home at 4:19 p.m. May 10. Police collected skeletal remains, which were taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiners Office in Louisville.

Brandenburg Police Department doesn't have an open missing person case. Police said they can't confirm the remains are those of a missing person from the area.

Police are working to gather information to identify the remains that were found.
