LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A southern Indiana man is facing multiple charges after police said he led troopers on a short pursuit Saturday night.
Indiana State Police said the incident began around 9:15 p.m. on March 21 when a trooper attempted to stop a speeding motorcycle on State Highway 62 in Corydon.
The driver, identified as 51-year-old Rickie Lee Chambers Jr. of Leavenworth, initially appeared to slow down before accelerating and continuing north onto State Road 135, initiating a brief chase.
Deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department joined the pursuit and officers were able to safely box in the motorcycle, bringing it to a stop.
Chambers was taken into custody without incident. Troopers said a search after the arrest uncovered suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia and multiple prescription pills.
All charges are preliminary.
