LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An Indiana man accused of stealing catalytic converters has been formally charged.
Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office formally charged Russell Neville, 59, of Columbus, Indiana, with nine counts of theft.
An investigation began in December 2023 after the Columbus Police Department received reports of catalytic converter thefts from local businesses.
Police said throughout the course of the investigation, Neville became a suspect, and is also believed to be responsible for similar thefts in Johnson and Marion Counties.
On Feb. 1, Police conducted a traffic stop, and Neville was arrested for possession of meth and marijuana, and taken to the Bartholomew County Jail.
County prosecutor's filed formal charges on Neville on Feb. 7 for the catalytic converter thefts. He is facing 10 felonies and one misdemeanor.
