LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A jail commander in Jennings County was arrested after nearly crashing into a sheriff's deputy, according to police.
Jennings County Sheriff's Office said a deputy was on patrol in the area of Highway 50 East in Butlerville when a passenger van crossed the centerline and nearly hit a patrol vehicle head-on.Ā
Police said Natasha Goins, a jail commander at Jennings County Jail, was stopped. The deputy observed signs of alcohol impairment and notified Indiana State Police.Ā
Goins was arrested and booked into Ripley County Jail. Goins has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending termination upon release from incarceration.
"The Jennings County Sheriff's Office remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, and we hold our personnel to the highest standards of conduct," Jennings County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook.
