LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A judge set a $1 million bond for the man charged with stabbing and beating a woman to death in Okolona two weeks ago.Â
Rashawn Betts, 38, appeared in court Tuesday morning, a day after he turned himself in to police. A not guilty plea was entered for him on charges of murder, burglary, assault, and wanton endangerment.
Louisville police had been searching for Betts after officers found Amy Skelton stabbed and beaten in the 5500 block of Greenbridge Way on Nov. 8. The coroner's office also said Skelton suffered "multiple blunt force trauma."Â
She died at the hospital.
Police say Betts shot the door of an apartment to break the lock, hit a person in the face with a gun, then stabbed Skelton several times.
