LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 31-year-old man accused of killing another man during a fight in Louisville's Russell neighborhood pleaded not guilty in court Thursday morning.

Alonzo Thomas is charged with the murder of Thaddeus Miller after they got into a fight in a parking lot on West Chestnut Street. According to the arrest citation, Thomas believed Miller had taken his gun from his girlfriend, who was trying to keep the gun away from Thomas.

Thomas was able to get the gun from a bystander after the fight. Police said the bystander had unloaded the gun. After another fight between Thomas and Miller, Thomas reloaded the gun, pointed it at Miller and fired, hitting him in the head, the arrest report states.

Police said the shooting was captured on surveillance video. Investigators were able to get Thomas' name through their investigation as a possible suspect. They then positively identified him as the alleged shooter after comparing a "known photo" of Thomas with the surveillance video of the shooting, and because he has "unique tattoos" that were visible in the video.

A judge set the bond for 31-year-old Alonzo Thomas' bond at $250,000 on Thursday morning.
