LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Jeffersonville police K-9 and drone helped officers track down a suspect accused of breaking into vehicles early Friday morning after a foot pursuit ended in a neighborhood swimming pool.
Officers with the Jeffersonville Police Department responded to the Northaven neighborhood around 3:57 a.m. after receiving reports of suspects breaking into vehicles.
Officers began searching the neighborhood while Clark County 911 and a drone pilot assisted from the air. Police said the drone spotted a person running through residents' backyards.
Officers and K-9 Lobo then chased after the suspect, ending in a resident's swimming pool, where officers safely took the man into custody.
Police said Lobo tracked the suspect and assisted in the arrest without making physical contact with him.
And don't worry: Lobo didn't go unrewarded for his work! Police said the K-9 got his toy once he returned to his vehicle.
Police haven't released the suspect's name or information about potential charges.
