LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Attorneys for a southern Indiana couple charged in connection to a murder-for-hire plot are suing prosecutors and police, accusing them of mishandling a search warrant.
Henry and Courtney Bachmann filed the lawsuit in July against Floyd County prosecutors, Indiana State Police, New Albany Police, Louisville Metro Government and several Louisville Metro Police officers.
Henry Bachmann is charged with conspiracy to commit murder for allegedly paying for a hit on a worker at New Albany business. He was also charged with corrupt business influence, money laundering and theft. Courtney Bachmann is charged with money laundering.

The suit is separate from the criminal charges filed against them.
The lawsuit accuses LMPD officers of mishandling a search warrant for money seized from a property on Main Street in Louisville and taken to Indiana in September 2025. The search and seizure was part of a series of sweeps across several properties targeting Henry Bachmann and a motorcycle club clubhouse.
Attorneys allege a "bad-faith," "extrajudicial cross-border conspiracy orchestrated by Indiana prosecutors and law enforcement officers" who "crossed state lines" into Kentucky "without jurisdiction, license, or legal authority." The suit argues there is no law in Indiana or Kentucky, or in the U.S., that allows a search and seizure warrant to work across state lines.Â
According to the complaint, there are no public records or evidence of the money Louisville Metro Police seized with the warrant, which they allege goes against protocol. They also claim prosecutors used invalid documents that "misled" a Louisville judge to approve a search warrant.Â
