LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they responded within a minute on a report of an "active aggressor" at a grocery store on West Broadway Sunday night.
According to LMPD Sgt. Matt Sanders, police received a call for an "active aggressor" at the Kroger on 2710 West Broadway. Sanders said police responded to the scene within 60 seconds of the initial dispatch and cleared the store to make sure shoppers and staff were safe.
Police said no shots were fired in or around the store. But two nearby restaurants were also cleared for public safety.
According to police, a teen or young adult went into Kroger wearing a mask and was armed with a handgun. That led to multiple 911 calls and an active aggressor response.
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call LMPD's anonymous tip line at (502) 574-5673.
