LMPD: Suspects arrested after police find drugs, shotgun in car

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested two people authorities say were caught with several kinds of drugs.

Jahi Hall, 24, and Jessica Joyce, 21, were arrested Monday on West Hill Street.

According to an arrest report, police saw Hall driving west along West Hill street near South 15th Street. The vehicle had a temporary tag that was improperly displayed in the rear windshield and an officer pulled the vehicle over.

Authorities say officers approached the vehicle and could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Police say as the officers spoke with Joyce and Hall, they saw a shotgun placed between Hall's right leg and the vehicle's middle console, in an effort to hide the weapon. At that point, officers asked the pair to get out of the vehicle.

According to investigators, Hall told police he had a concealed weapon in his waistband. Hall then allowed officers to search his body. Police found a clear plastic bag with 28 white tablets inside, a clear bag containing marijuana, and a black case with shotgun ammunition.

Hall then gave officers permission to search the vehicle. Police found about 52 grams of meth, three Xanax bars, two digital scales, two meth pipes, several plastic baggies, two syringes, a vial of naloxone and loose handgun ammunition.

Hall and Joyce face several charges including trafficking in a controlled substance, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Louisville Metro Corrections staff tell WDRB that Hall is still in custody at the jail. Joyce was released after posting bail, according to jail staff.
