LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southwest Louisville restaurant is donating half its business Friday and Saturday to help pay for the funeral of a 20-year-old man shot and killed early Tuesday morning on the Greenwood Boat Ramp.
Gorilla Bob's Grub Shack in Valley Station will donate 50% of sales to help the family of Jayson Manookian, who was killed around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Bob Raymer, who owns Gorilla Bob's, knows the family needs help.
"Mainly just to make sure his sister, who pretty much raising him, gets all her affairs in order," Raymer said Friday. "And I want her to be able to relax a little bit and not have to stress at all.
"She like a daughter to me and I want to make sure — and the community wants to make sure — that she's good."
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers responded to a report of a shooting around 3 a.m. in the 8200 block of Greenwood Road near Cane Run Road. Officers found Manookian on the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. They applied a chest seal, Ellis said, and EMS transported him to UofL Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Ellis said another man — identified by family Friday as 19-year-old Dennis James — was brought to the hospital by private means with a gunshot wound from the same incident. That man was shot multiple times, according to the arrest report, and arrived at UofL Hospital in critical condition.
His father, Dennis James, said his son is fighting for his life.
"He's in a hospital bed and has a 1% chance of ever walking again," James said. "He's in pretty bad shape. The bullet went in his chest and hit his main artery and then went into his spinal cord."
James said they've heard "15 million stories" as to why the shooting happened but still don't have any definitive answers.
"It's gonna be a long road," he said. "He's got a long, long, hard fight ahead of him."
LMPD said Thursday they arrested James O. Reece, of Louisville, charging him with murder, assault, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. According to Reece's arrest report, officers identified his vehicle attempted to conduct a traffic stop Thursday. Reece sped off but eventually stopped on Kahlert Avenue in the Jacobs neighborhood.

Reece and another man were arrested after a short foot chase, police said.
According to the arrest report, Reece told investigators that, after Manookian used "verbal slurs" amid an argument, a co-defendant shot the victims through the rear driver's side window. However, the co-defendant told investigators that Reece fired the shots from the driver's seat.
Reece is being held at Metro Corrections and was arraigned Friday morning. A judge set his bond at $1 million.
James said his family started a GoFundMe page to help with his son's medical bills. If you'd like to donate, click here.
