LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Nearly a week after a shooting outside of a nightclub in the Russell neighborhood, Louisville leaders are asking for a change.
One person was killed and seven others injured after a shooting at the H2O Lounge.
City leaders and community members are asking for more police presence in the area near the nightclub. They're also asking neighbors to come forward with any information.

"Violence in our community is at the all time high," Councilwoman Tammy Hawkins, D-1, said.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said Joseph D. Bowers, 40, of Indianapolis, died at the scene.
Another adult in critical condition with life-threatening injuries was taken to UofL Health Hospital in downtown Louisville with gunshot wounds. Police said there has been no update to the person's condition.
Hawkins, who represents a neighboring district, said residents have been calling her this week asking for more police presence in the area.
One of the owners of Double Deuce, just two doors down from the nightclub, echoed those concerns.
"We're just asking for the police presence," Double Deuce Owner Stephon Harbin said. "We ourselves have tried a number of times to have off-duty officers just to be in front of the establishment. We're doing the best that we can to try to make people feel comfortable, feel safe."
Lt. Mason Brown works in Louisville Metro Police's First Division which covers the Russell neighborhood where the nightclub is located.
Brown said he hears the message from the community loud and clear and will make sure more officers are in the area.
"Officers are up to it, they're doing it, but I've heard their concerns and we will increase patrol in this area," Brown said.
At a news conference on Monday, Louisville Metro Police released images of what investigators believe is a lightly-colored 2007 to 2014 Chevy Tahoe. The SUV was likely damaged by gunfire.
"We need y'alls help because absolutely we cannot do this ourselves and we recognize we are not efficient without the community helping us," Brown said.
Police said they have gotten several tips this week after releasing the photos but are still looking for a suspect.
"At some point we all gotta be sick of it," Stachelle Bussey, with violence prevention, said. "If we want to change the culture, we have to start changing the narrative."
Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call the LMPD tip line at 502- 574-LMPD (5673) or you may utilize the anonymous Crime Tip portal click here.
