LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three Indianapolis men were arrested Friday evening after a high-speed vehicle chase led police through multiple counties in southern Indiana.

According to Indiana State Police, Trooper Wyatt Madden attempted to stop a gray 2019 Chevrolet Silverado truck for speeding on Interstate 65 near Sellersburg. When Madden approached the vehicle, it sped off.

The pursuit continued north at speeds more than 100 mph, crossing through both Scott and Jackson Counties on Interstate 65.

Troopers and officers from other agencies joined in on the pursuit and attempted to stop the truck with Stop Stick tire deflation devices; however, the driver alluded to them on several occasions.

The driver and front-seat passenger of the truck were seen by officers throwing an unknown substance out of the window as it fled north. Officers also learned that the plates on the truck had been reported stolen.

Approximately five miles south of Columbus, Indiana, the driver crossed the median and began driving northbound in the southbound lanes and exited onto the Columbus exit.

The truck then hit a car that was entering onto the southbound ramp and continued to drive north on the interstate on the northbound side.

Officers were able to stop the truck around the 81 mile marker with Stop Sticks. It was then learned that the truck was reported stolen from Westfield, Indiana in May of 2024.

The three occupants in the truck were arrested and booked at the Clark County Jail.

The driver, James Thomas Vinson, 35, of Indianapolis, is being charged with vehicle theft, resisting law enforcement, possession of marijuana, and several other charges along with numerous warrants out of Marion County.

Cedrick Anthony Gleaves, 29, of Indianapolis, and Carl Fulmore, 23, of Indianapolis are being charged with possession of marijuana.

The investigation is ongoing, according to ISP.
