LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville police arrested a man Wednesday in connection with a shooting in the city's Newburg neighborhood earlier this month.
In court for his arraignment Thursday morning, Ja'von Knott, 20, pleaded not guilty to assault.
Knott was charged in a shooting that happened just before 3 a.m. July 5 on Shasta Trail, near Poplar Level Road, Louisville Metro Police said Wednesday.
According to court documents, Knott was fighting with his girlfriend and allegedly shot her father when he tried to intervene.Â
Police said the victim was shot twice but survived.
Judge Lisa Langford set Knott's bond at $100,000 cash. He's due back in court July 27.
