LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police is calling on the community to come forward with tips after three people were shot and killed on the same city block in a matter of months.
Police say the homicides happened between May and November in the 1000 block of Esquire Alley, just north of West Broadway in the Russell neighborhood.
LMPD leadership said Wednesday they believe all three cases are unrelated, but they're also unsolved.
"We've had little to no witnesses come forward," said Lt. Les Skaggs, commander of the LMPD Homicide Unit. "We've had very few leads to solve these three homicides. And we need the community's support in this area which has had numerous violent crimes."
LMPD said there have been 137 homicides in the city in 2024. That's three more than this time last year over the same timeframe
The department has cleared 46 of those homicide cases, a clearance rate of about 33%.
