LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police seized 27 pounds of synthetic drugs and cash last week as two men were arrested, according to LMPD.

LMPD's First Division executed two search warrants in the Russell and Portland neighborhoods on March 6. Police seized 27 pounds of synthetic drugs and a large amount of cash. 

The synthetic drugs, known as spice, is not marijuana. 

"These dangerous drugs turn our community members into zombies," LMPD posted on Facebook. "Often times, spice can be laced with all kinds of chemicals from rat poison to fentanyl."

LMPD said Larry Shields, 41, and William Elmore, 54, were both arrested.
