Fatal Fire in Southwest Louisville

Prosecutors said Peden started the fire over a domestic dispute with someone else.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman pled guilty after intentionally starting a fire in an apartment building in southwest Louisville in 2017.

Six years after the incident occurred, Danesha Peden now faces a possible sentence of 46 years in prison for three counts of murder, one count of arson, and 15 counts of wanton endangerment.

Prosecutors said Peden set fire to the six-unit apartment building on Shanks Lane in southwest Louisville. Occupants had to jump out of windows due to the fire and smoke surrounding the building.

The fire led to the deaths of 41-year-old Archie Riley, 16-year-old Savannah Cooper, and 11-year-old Kameron Harris.

Peden is not eligible for parole. Sentencing is scheduled for January.
