LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who made dozens of trips to Louisville to get meth and cocaine to sell has been sentenced to prison.
Christopher Dorten, 48, of Madison, Indiana, was sentenced Monday to 40 years behind bars at the Indiana Department of Corrections after he was convicted of 14 felonies related to dealing in meth and cocaine.
Prosecutors said he was a major supplier of meth in Jefferson County, Indiana. Officers confirmed Dorten made at least 65 trips to Louisville to buy the drugs since February 2024.
Dorten's arrest was part a monthslong investigation called Operation Iceberg, which led to 25 drug-related arrests in the southern Indiana county.
"This 40-year sentence sends a clear message: if you traffic deadly drugs in Jefferson County, you will be held accountable," Jefferson County Prosecutor David Sutter said in a news release. "We will continue to pursue major dealers who profit from addiction and destroy lives."
Multiple agencies are involved in Operation Iceberg, including Indiana State Police and Kentucky State Police, the U.S. Marshal's Office, Jefferson County Prosecutor's Office, City of Madison Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and the Jennings County Sheriff's Office.
