LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who police said attacked a female officer after passing out in a car with a baby in the back appeared in front of a judge Saturday.
Louisville Metro Police said they found 38-year-old Gregory Horton slumped over the wheel with a 9-month old baby in the backseat along Dixie Highway on Friday.
When the officer asked Horton to step out of the car he said he thought he was in Dallas and not in Louisville.
Horton then said it was too cold outside for a field sobriety test and wanted to do it at a gas station.
The officer agreed and tried to unlock the car seat. Horton then approached the officer, who pushed him back.
Police said Horton put the officer in a headlock and held her down on the vehicle. The officer got out of the headlock and Horton continued to fight her until civilians eventually helped detain him.
Horton pled not guilty to charges including assaulting a police officer, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a minor.
His bond was set at $2,500.
