LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving onto a sidewalk at the Kentucky State Fair.
Court records show 71-year-old Richard Schroer was taken into custody by Kentucky State Police around 5 p.m.
The arrest citation said he drove his 2011 Chevy Impala onto the sidewalk in attempt to get around workers. Police said someone tried to stop him by holding on to the car mirror, but Schroer kept going and knocked down another person.
Troopers said Schroer also had oxycodone pills in the car.
Schroer pleaded not guilty Monday on charges of wanton endangerment, assault, leaving the scene of an accident and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on his own recognizance is scheduled back in court Sept. 25.
