LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died after being stabbed in the Smoketown neighborhood just before midnight on Sunday.
According to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis, officers responded to a call of a reported stabbing in the 900 block of East Broadway around 11:55 p.m. on Sunday.
They found a man near the railroad tracks suffering from a stab wound when they arrived.
Officers gave the victim life saving measures until EMS could arrive, according to Ellis.
He was unresponsive and transported to UofL Hospital, where he died from his injuries shortly after arriving.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit will be handling the investigation.
