LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died after a hit-and-run Thursday evening in the Irish Hill neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.
John Bradley, a spokesman for LMPD, said officers responded on a pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the area of Lexington Road at Payne Street just before 6:30 p.m.
Officers found a man in the roadway. Police said the vehicle was heading west on Lexington Road and didn't stop then fled the scene.
The man was taken to UofL Hospital where he died. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 31-year-old Michael Anthony Allen.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating and is asking for the public's help in locating a light colored sedan that was last seen traveling west on Lexington Road around the time of the incident.
