LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is being held on a $250,000 bond for allegedly abusing two Spencer County children.
In a release, Kentucky State Police said Markus White, 21, of Lexington was arrested Feb. 1 after both seven-month-old children suffered injuries.
According to the citation, the mother of the children took them to UofL Health Shelbyville for injuries to her daughter's arm. Doctors discovered a fracture, contacted Child Protective Services and advised them to take the child to Norton Children's Hospital.
After arriving in Louisville, hospital staff determined the girl's arm was broken. Staff also found that the girl's juvenile brother had multiple fractures to his legs.
KSP said the mother admitted during an interview that she witnessed White strike the boy on the head in December. She also admitted to seeing multiple bruises and marks on her son. She told police that one mark was shaped like a fingernail and bleeding. She said when she confronted White he "admitted to pinching and hitting the juvenile out of frustration due to crying."
Police detectives said when they interviewed White he "admitted to pinching the child on different occasions."
White is being held in the Shelby County Detention Center. He is scheduled back in court Feb. 6.
