LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was taken to the hospital Saturday night after being shot in west Louisville.

Louisville Metro Police Officer Adam Sears said authorities responded to a reported shooting in the 500 block of N. 35th Street at 5:46 p.m. That's in the Portland neighborhood.

According to LMPD, officers found a man shot in the leg. Police tape was set up around the entrance of a Kroger store in the area.

It’s unknown at this time exactly where the shooting occurred occurred in relation to the area that was blocked off by police tape.

The man was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
