LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man was shot near the Highlands early Sunday morning.

LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said officers responded to a shooting victim who showed up at a hospital around 5 a.m. after being shot in the leg. The man was taken to UofL Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The victim told detectives he was shot Sunday morning near Baxter Avenue and Hepburn Avenue in the Highlands area.

Police said officers responded to a report of shots fired in that area at 3:34 a.m. They found evidence of a shooting but no victim at the scene.
