LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a man was shot Monday night in the Smoketown neighborhood.
According to LMPD, officers were dispatched shortly before 10:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of South Shelby Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man outside suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police said officers immediately provided first aid, including applying a tourniquet, until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victim was then taken by EMS to UofL Hospital.
He was alert and conscious at the scene, and his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit responded and has taken over the investigation. No suspects have been identified.
