LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville police are looking for a driver accused of hitting a man on a scooter on Dixie Highway Thursday morning in the city's California neighborhood and driving off.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of Dixie Highway just after 8 a.m. on a report that a person had been hit, Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson John Bradley said in a statement. That's near Grand Avenue and St. Catherine Street, not far from California Park.
Once on scene, Bradley said officers found a man who, according to witnesses, was on a scooter in the southbound lanes when he was hit by a Chevy Malibu.
The driver did not stop, continuing south on Dixie, Bradley said. Witnesses told police at the scene the vehicle had damage to its windshield.
The victim was alert and conscious when EMS arrived and transported him to University of Louisville Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
LMPD's Second Division is investigating.
