LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The wife of a former Clark County Sheriff sentenced to prison pleaded guilty to 10 felony charges Wednesday.

Misty Noel pleaded guilty to five counts of theft and five counts of tax evasion. Those were the original charges filed against her.

At the hearing, the prosecution and defense presented a conditional plea deal. As part of the plea deal, Misty Noel would plead guilty, repay $660,806.64 in restitution to New Chapel and $29,547 to the Indiana Department of Revenue, and serve up to six years, with 18 months in prison followed by 4.5 years of probation.

"And it is my understanding that you wish to withdraw your previous not guilty and enter a plea of guilty pursuant to the terms of this plea agreement," Judge Larry Medlock said in the courtroom Wednesday.

Under the agreement, nine vehicles seized from the Utica Fire Department would be returned and assets, including cars, homes and bond money would be sold to help recoup the funds.

"The courts can weigh a lot of different factors in making a decision," Hertel said. "Many times a judge will accept a plea agreement, but there's been times, not necessarily in this case, but in my practice in the past, where judges have not accepted."

At Jamey Noel's sentencing last October, Noel said his family, including his wife, had no idea of his illegal activity. Jamey Noel was sentenced to 12 years in prison and ordered to pay millions in restitution after pleading guilty to 27 felonies for theft, obstruction of justice, tax evasion, money laundering, corrupt business influence and official misconduct.

In February, Misty Noel's daughter, Kasey, was sentenced to nine months in prison. She was arrested last April on nine felony charges, including five counts of theft and four counts of tax evasion. Search warrants in the corruption case of Jamey Noel indicate Kasey Noel charged more than $100,000 to the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association and New Chapel EMS.

She was arrested in February 2024 and spent a weekend in the Scott County Detention Center before her first court appearance and was released from jail after posting a $30,000 cash bond.

Misty Noel has since filed for divorce.

Misty Noel is scheduled to return to court July 3.

If Medlock accepts the deal, Misty Noel will be taken into custody. If he doesn't accept the deal, they'll move forward with the trial.
