LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) ā The downfall of former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel is now like a boulder rolling downhill crushing everything in its path.
Noel is currently in prison serving a 12-year sentence for stealing millions from taxpayers through years of fraud and misconduct.
On Friday, another person tangled up in the Noel saga pleaded guilty.Ā
Brittney Ferree, mother of one of Jamey Noels' children and a former Clark County Council member, was sentenced to two years probation.
"What have you learned?" Special Judge Larry Medlock asked Ferree Friday during her sentencing.Ā
"Not to trust somebody just because they're in law enforcement," Ferree said during the sentencing hearing.
Ferree confessed to a conflict of interest charge. Investigators said she voted to approved contracts between the county and New Chapel EMS, and Noel use New Chapel checks to pay her child support.Ā

Jamey Noel's daughter, Kasey Noel, was sentenced last month to nine months in prison after pleading guilty to theft and tax evasion.Ā
In addition, Jamey Noel's now estranged wife, Misty Noel, and John Miller, friend and former Clark County Council member, are both headed to trial, all charged as associates or beneficiaries of Noel's schemes.
"I've been adamantly, openly blowing the whistle for decades," Citizen Watchdog Shawn Bostock said. "I have spoken to the state police on several occasions, any file that I had on him, any financials or anything like that, I turned over because he needed to be held accountable."
Bostock's grievances with Noel went back years. He said he worked for Noel and was fired but then sued in federal court and won for wrongly withheld wages.Ā
Bostock said seeing Noel's demise was vindicating.Ā

"Everything I've said has come to fruition," Bostock said. "Documents that I had received that expedited their (ISP's) search, they were able to, instead of ask for a nuclear bomb, go in with scalpel and say, we want this specific thing."
In addition to being sheriff, Jamey Noel also ran New Chapel EMS and the Utica Township fire protection district. Prosecutors said he used the fire and ambulance service agencies' bank accounts as his own, buying cars, planes, basically whatever he wanted for himself and loved ones.
Noel offered a sobbing apology, asked for forgiveness and said he'd repented for his actions during his sentencing.Ā
He pleaded guilty to 27 felonies resulting in more than $3 million in fraudulent spending that has left whole communities to deal with the fallout.
"Noel and his criminal syndicate have ran rough shot over multiple counties not just Clark," Bostock said. "The cleaning up of his mess is going to take a decade."
Floyd County residents face a new income tax as the county tries to start a new ambulance service to replace the one that went away with Noel's conviction.
Clark County rushed to sign a contract with a new vendor, Heartland Ambulance Service, when New Chapel EMS' response times started to lag after Noel's arrest.
Utica is trying to replace equipment and build a new department from scratch. Leaders say the department is missing 10 firetrucks. They believe Noel stole them.
"Jamey was taking fire trucks that were titled to the Utica Township Fire Protection District and selling them out of state to a dealer in Alabama," Joe Jarles, President Utica Township Fire Protection District said. "That dealer was writing checks to a New Chapel related organization, where Jamey would deposit the money and steal the money from the district."
Jamey Noel's classic car collection will be auctioned off soon to help pay restitution. It's set for May 2-3 at the French Lick Resort.
