LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A judge set a new trial date Monday for the wife of former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel.

Misty Noel's trial was scheduled to begin Monday but was instead pushed back to June 2. She's charged with 10 felonies, including theft and tax evasion.

At Jamey Noel's sentencing last October, Noel said his family, including his wife, had no idea of his illegal activity.Ā Jamey Noel wasĀ sentenced to 12 years in prisonĀ and ordered to pay millions in restitution after pleading guilty to 27 felonies for theft, obstruction of justice, tax evasion, money laundering, corrupt business influence and official misconduct.

  • $2,870,924 to Utica Township Volunteers Firefighters Association (dba New Chapel EMS)
  • $173,155.07 to the Indiana Department of Revenue
  • $61,190.77 to the Clark County Sheriff's Department

Noel was arrested inĀ November 2023Ā on charges related to fraud, misconduct, theft, ghost employment and public corruption after a nearly year-long investigation.Ā More chargesĀ were filed against him in early February, including theft and tax evasion.

Earlier this month, Misty Noel's daughter, Kasey, was sentenced to nine months in prison. She was arrested last April on nine felony charges, including five counts of theft and four counts of tax evasion.Ā Search warrants in the corruption case of Jamey Noel indicateĀ Kasey Noel charged more than $100,000Ā to theĀ Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters AssociationĀ and New Chapel EMS.Ā
