LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A week after he was sentenced to prison, Jamey Noel's wife and daughter are asking the judge if they can sell 3 of their homes.

Misty and Kasey Noel, who are also charged in the case against Jamey Noel, want Special Judge Larry Medlock's permission to sell houses in Jeffersonville and Florida. They claim they can't afford their mortgages and need the money to pay off potential restitution.

The Noels actually own 5 properties, but they're asking to sell 3 of them.

Kasey Noel says she's dipping into savings- to pay the mortgage on her home at Old Salem Road in Jeffersonville. Misty Noel says she needs the money because her husband, Jamey Noel is behind bars and she's no longer working as a nurse.

Misty wants to sell their house on Turnberry Drive in Jeffersonville and their home in Naples, Florida.

In court documents, Misty and Kasey say they want to keep their home on Old Tay Bridge in Jeffersonville since they're all staying there.

10 vehicles everything from Dodge Charges to a box truck and a Cessna airplane were seized by police in the Jamey Noel investigation. The state has been ordered to return the vehicles and small plane to the Utica Township Fire Department.

Jamey Noel was sentenced to 12 years in prison last week and ordered to pay millions in restitution after pleading guilty to 27 felonies for theft, obstruction of justice, tax evasion, money laundering, corrupt business influence and official misconduct. Medlock also ordered him to return several vehicles to the Utica Township Volunteer Fire Department as part of his plea agreement.

Jamey Noel served as Clark County Sheriff from 2015-23 and also led New Chapel Fire/EMS and the Utica Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Misty Noel, who has since filed for divorce from her husband, and their daughter, Kasey Noel, are also implicated in the case, facing multiple felony charges for theft and tax evasion. They have each pleaded not guilty to the charges against them and are out of jail on bond.

A jury trial for Kasey Noel was set to start Tuesday, Aug. 20. Instead, it was delayed during a court hearing that day until Medlock issued a ruling on a request asking that their trials be joined. The two petitioned the court Aug. 6 to have their cases combined, since they both face similar charges connected to the investigation into Jamey Noel.

The charges against Noel's wife, Misty Noel, require a 12-person jury. The charges against their daughter, Kasey, require just six people.

On Sept. 5, a court filing by Misty Noel's attorney stated she would stick with the larger jury and their cases would not be combined

Misty Noel was charged with 10 felonies in the case. She was arrested in February and spent a weekend in the Scott County Detention Center before her first court appearance and was released from jail after posting a $30,000 cash bond.

Kasey Noel was arrested in April on nine felony charges, including five counts of theft and four counts of tax evasion. Search warrants in the corruption case of Jamey Noel indicate Kasey Noel charged more than $100,000 to the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association and New Chapel EMS.

A possible plea deal is also on the table for Misty and Kasey Noel. They're scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 28th.
