LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man charged with shooting and killing a man near Fourth Street Live! will stay in jail on a $500,000 bond.
Jordan Fields, 33, was arrested on Saturday. He was wanted for shooting and killing 38-year-old Chad Smith Sr. near Fourth Street Live! on Jan. 21.
Fields appeared in court on Monday where Judge Kristina Garvey raised his bond from a combined $150,000 to $500,000.
Judge Garvey also gave Fields multiple bond conditions, including staying away from the victim, their family, and Fourth Street Live! if he happens to post bond.
Police were first looking to arrest Fields on murder charges, but when they pulled him over it was a fight to get him in cuffs.
Officers first spotted Fields getting into the passenger seat of a car. The report says they then tried to pull him over on Garland Avenue, but he got out of the car and ran.
According to the report, officers ran after him. During the chase, Fields grabbed the leg of a K9 officer.
One officer broke their hand, and another hurt their shoulder.
In addition to murder, Fields is also charged with resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, and assault on a service animal.
He was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections.
Fields is due back in court next week.
