LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Gov. Andy Beshear praised Kentucky State Police after the successful conclusion of a statewide drug sweep.

Drugs valued at more than $640,000 were seized during the one-day operation earlier this month, according to a news release on the KSP website

Dubbed "Operation Summer Heat 2.0," the statewide sweep resulted in 197 arrests along with the drug seizures.

"Every Kentuckian should be safe and feel safe, and no Kentucky family should feel the pain of losing a loved one to addiction," Beshear said in the release. "Because of the Kentucky State Police, we are accomplishing both of these goals, and we are thankful for the agency’s dedication to every single one of our commonwealth’s communities."

Video of the some of the arrests can be seen on the KSP Facebook page.
