LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Ohio man was indicted on a murder charge after a fatal crash in Louisville earlier this year.

Scott Drollinger, 38, was arrested and charged with murder, criminal mischief and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol after a crash on Feb. 9. According to the arrest citation, the crash happened in the 3300 block of Northwestern Parkway just after 7:45 p.m.

LMPD Traffic Unit officers responded and found evidence showing that Drollinger was traveling west in a 2024 GMC Sierra Pickup Truck when he lost control and ran off the road. Officers said there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from Drollinger when they first arrived.

Anna Maria Gonzalez, 38, was a passenger in the truck. Gonzalez was Drollinger's girlfriend, according to her family.

According to police, Drollinger had been drinking when he convinced Gonzalez to get into his truck. While driving on Northwestern Parkway, he lost control. The vehicle tore through fences and poles, skidding wildly for more than a hundred yards before coming to a stop. Gonzalez died at the scene.

Drollinger was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A toxicology report showed he had a blood alcohol level of .156. LMPD's Real Time Crime Center Cameras (RTCC) captured him driving at a high rate of speed prior to the crash happening, according to the citation.

Gonzalez, of Georgetown, Indiana, had been working to rebuild her life. She had moved into a new apartment with her daughters, Victoria and Natalia, and had been sober for almost four years. She was committed to bettering herself and had planned to return to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), despite Drollinger's objections.

Drollinger was indicted on murder, criminal mischief in the first degree, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants and speeding.
