LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A pedestrian died as a result of a crash in downtown Louisville in earlier this month, according to Louisville Metro Police.
LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said police responded to a crash at Third and W. Main streets around 5:35 a.m. on March 9. Police found a man on the roadway and sidewalk once they arrived on scene.
He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital. That's when police learned he had been hit by an unknown vehicle. He died as a result of the crash on March 22. His identity hasn't been released by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office yet.
Police don't know the circumstances that led up to the crash, according to Ellis.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the crash as a hit-and-run.
There is no vehicle information connected to the crash, according to police. Ellis encourages anyone who was in the area on that date and time who captured surveillance video to share information with police.
