LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) — A 71-year-old southern Indiana woman was arrested after two men were shot Wednesday afternoon in Louisville's Portland neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police said Marcia J. May, of Georgetown, Indiana, was arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with two counts of second-degree assault.
The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 2100 block of Portland Avenue.
Police said officers arrived and found two men who had been shot. Both were taken to UofL Hospital for treatment.
LMPD initially said a person had been detained following the shooting.
On Thursday, police said detectives with the department's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit arrested May in connection with the case.
The investigation remains ongoing.
