LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- At least three people broke into the Kentuckiana Gun Store over the weekend and stole several guns.

A $5,000 reward has been offered for information that will lead to an arrest after the southern Indiana gun store was burglarized on Sunday.

Jeffersonville Police Department responded to an alarm call at Kentuckiana Gun Store located at 5508 IN-62 at 6 a.m. Security footage showed that three people wearing masks arrived at the store in a red sedan. The suspects broke at least one window, got into the business and stole several firearms, according to police.

"At this point in time, there is some video that captured the suspects," ATF Special Agent Daryl McCormick said. "Considering these firearms are in the hands of criminals that is a high risk to public safety. The firearms are in the wrong hands."

The burglary is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Columbus Field Division jointly with Jeffersonville Police Department. The ATF gets involved when a licensed gun dealer is robbed.

It's not the first time Kentuckiana Gun Store has been targeted. Last year, seven people, six of them juveniles, were arrested after a burglary at Kentuckiana Gun Store. The driver of the suspect vehicle led police on a high speed chase before being arrested.

McCormick, based in Columbus, said guns that are stolen are often used in future crimes.

"We know that they're in the hands of criminals, then that's a priority for us to recover them and then to hold those people accountable," McCormick said.

The ATF and National Shooting Sports Foundation are offering a potential reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to identification and arrest of the people responsible for the burglary.

"We just want the public's help identifying these people and the rest is on us and so we'll pay this money out," McCormick said.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call ATF at 1-888-283-8477 or email tips to ATFTips@atf.gov or submit tips online by clicking here.
