LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a shooting Thursday afternoon in Old Louisville.
LMPD spokesman John Bradley said officers responded on a shooting in the area of 2nd and Hill streets around 12:45 p.m. Officers found a man who had been shot, and he was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
In a letter sent home to families, Jefferson County Public Schools said security levels at Noe Middle School and duPont Manual High School were increased because the shooting took place across the street from the Youth Performing Arts School.
LMPD said there will be traffic control measures in place for the next few hours because there's traffic on Hill Street when school is dismissed.
"All students and staff are safe and police are investigating," the letter from JCPS said.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating.
JCPS spokesman Mark Hebert said it's unknown at this time if this incident will impact dismissals at the two schools.
At 1:43 p.m., Hebert said the schools were given the all clear by police.
