LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 52-year-old southern Indiana man charged with torturing an animal was arrested while fleeing police in a stolen vehicle, according to police.
According to police, deputies went to a home on Weir Road in western Scott County for a reported home entry. Police said a suspect stole a truck at the home and stomped on the homeowner's dog, who wasn't aggressive toward the intruder.
Police believed the suspect was involved in a crash on Interstate 65 that was investigated by Indiana State Police.
Christopher Allen Greenlee, of Washington, Indiana, was found in Ohio in the stolen truck. He was identified as the intruder.
Greenlee was extradited to Scott County Jail on Monday after first being housed in Hamilton County, Ohio. He was charged with residential entry, auto theft, torturing or mutilating an animal and cruelty to an animal.
"If you come to Scott County and commit a crime against our citizens, get ready to spend time in the Scott County Jail," Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin said. "We will not rest until you are identified, apprehended, and returned to Scott County to face justice. I am extremely proud of our deputies who worked tirelessly on this case."
