LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An arrest has been made after a man was shot and injured in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood early Christmas morning.

According to Louisville Metro Police, Rogelio Ramirez Camarena, 43, was taken into custody by the SWAT unit Wednesday afternoon.

LMPD spokesman John Bradley said officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 4900 block of Quail Court just after midnight.

When police arrived, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to UofL Health Hospital in downtown Louisville and is expected to survive.

According to an arrest report, Ramirez Camarena was in an apartment with three other people. He allegedly shot one of them in the arm. The three barricade themselves in a bedroom and felt they couldn't leave because Ramirez Camarena had a gun. All three escaped through a second floor window.

Ramirez Camarena is charged with assault, wanton endangerment and unlawful imprisonment. He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.

LMPD's Non-Fatal-Shooting Unit is investigating the incident.
