LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was arrested after allegedly choking and assaulting a UofL Hospital nurse Saturday afternoon.

According to court documents, a nurse was making her rounds around 3 p.m. when 35-year-old Mykeisha Johnson allegedly attacked her.

Police said footage of the incident shows Johnson choking the nurse then slamming her to the ground. Johnson then began hitting the nurse in the face and the rest of her body once she was on the ground.

Mental health techs heard the incident and attempted to stop it before security arrived and removed Johnson.

According to court documents, once she was arrested, Johnson told police she assaulted the nurse despite her not doing or saying anything to provoke the attack.

Johnson said she was angry at the staff for taking too long to discharge her so she attacked the first person available, court documents claim.

The nurse told police she had pain in her neck, back of her head, left leg, abdomen, upper back and shoulder. Police said the nurse also had redness on her left arm and swelling.

Johnson was taken to Metro Corrections and had a cash bond set for $10,000. She's been initially charged with assault of a healthcare provider, wanton endangerment and menacing.

Johnson's first court date is scheduled for Monday morning.
