LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Simpsonville early Wednesday, and police are searching for suspects.
Simpsonville Police said in a news release that officers responded to reports of shots fired at the Veechdale Apartments in the 200 block of Buck Creek Road around 12:40 Wednesday morning.
That's where police said they found a woman who had been shot. Shelby County EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.
Police said they believe it was an "isolated incident" but the case is being investigated as a homicide.
The Shelbyville Police Department and Shelby County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the response at the scene.
