LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg officially announced his re-election campaign on Tuesday.

He was first elected in 2022 to replace Mayor Greg Fischer. That same year during his campaign, Greenberg was shot at by Quintez Brown and no one was hurt.

Brown pleaded guilty to both state and federal charges and was sentenced to 17.5 years.

Greenberg said his top priority moving forward is public safety but he has a long list of goals.

"We need to make sure everyone is safe and feels safe in every neighborhood," Greenberg said. "That is critically important. There's so much more we want to do beyond that. We want to keep building more housing, keep improving our parks and libraries, and keep creating good jobs."

Louisville's mayoral election is set for 2026.
