LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- More cucumbers are being recalled in Kentucky because of a salmonella outbreak.

Pennrose Farms voluntarily recalled 5-pound mesh bags of whole cucumber. The recalled bags have Restaurant Depot and Pennrose Farms logos printed on them, and were packaged between May 2 and May 5.

The cucumbers were sold at Kroger stores in four states, including Kentucky. The recall is tied to a recall issued by Florida-based Bedner Growers earlier this week for a possible salmonella contamination.

Consumers are urged to throw them out. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said at least 26 people in 15 states got sick, including at least one in Kentucky. Nine had to be hospitalized. No deaths have been reported.

Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include diarrhea, fever, severe vomiting, dehydration and stomach cramps. Most people who get sick recover within a week. Infections can be severe in young children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems, who may require hospitalization.
