LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dare to Care Food Bank received around 15,000 pounds of food from three companies.
In partnership with Feeding America, Walmart, Bimbo Bakeries USA and Tyson Foods donated 15,000 pounds of food, according to a news release Tuesday. The donation equates to around 12,500 meals.Ā
The companies donated 5,000 pounds of bread and 10,000 pounds of protein that will be given to individuals and families over the next few weeks.
"We are so thankful to our corporate partners for this generous donation,"Ā Vincent James, president and CEO of Dare to Care Food Bank, said in a news release. "The end of pandemic-related food benefits and economic downturn has caused extra difficulties for families, many of whom never thought theyād be in these situations."
