LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two suspects charged in the Crystal Rogers murder case are expected in court Thursday afternoon.
Joseph and Steve Lawson have a hearing scheduled in Nelson County Circuit Court at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Nelson County Judge Charles Simms III has ordered that Steve Lawson must decide if he wants to include or exclude statements he made in 2023 police interviews to be used in his trial.
His attorney, Ted Lavit, has said Steve Lawson shouldn't have to make that decision because it would give away his defense strategy months ahead of trial.
Lavit also says attorneys haven't even gone through all the evidence in the case.
The Lawsons, along with Brooks Houck, are all scheduled for trial in February 2025. It hasn't been decided on whether the trials will be together or separate, and it also hasn't been decided where they'll take place after being moved from Nelson County.
While attorneys have agreed to move the trial to Hopkinsville in Christian County, Judge Simms still has to give final approval.
