LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- When Byerly Ford opened its doors you could buy a new pickup truck for $600.
A lot has changed since 1944, as the Louisville business celebrates its 70th anniversary this week.
Over the years, Byerly has sold more than 50,000 new and used cars.
The Dixie Highway dealership recently underwent a $2 million top to bottom renovation.
"We're family owned and operated. I'm a 3rd generation dealer. My grandfather Cliff Byerly started the store back in the mid 40s. We just want to give back to the community. The community has been great to us," Byerly President Greg Daunhauer said.
To cap off the 70th anniversary, the dealership is giving away a 2015 Ford Transit Connect to a local charity.
